I See The Moon...

...and the moon sees me! I was up really early this morning, before the birds. Just me and the moon and it was really pretty, I tried to capture its beauty and all I see is a dot in a sea of black. Oh well, thought I would share it any way!! There is nothing like the quiet and stillness of the early morning - it was cool on the porch in my barefeet, not a sound from our puppies or anything else for that matter! My mind is more quiet in the morning too, or atleast until the caffeine hits. Hope yall have a great day!!

The poem in its entirety is all of four lines...
I see the moon
And the moon sees me;
God bless the moon
And God bless me.

Taxes, Taxes, Taxes

This is hilarious - my hubby sent this to me. So while I am eating my Chickfil-A sandwich (with extra pickles), I am pecking away, greasy fingers and all, to share this....

Actual 'Letter to the Editor' from the February 5th edition of theWichita Falls, Texas Times Record News...

Dear IRS,I am sorry to inform you that I will not be able to pay taxes owed April 15, but all is not lost.I have paid these taxes: accounts receivable tax, building permit tax, CDL tax, cigarette tax, corporate income tax, dog licence tax, federal income tax, unemployment tax, gasoline tax, hunting licence tax, fishing licence tax, waterfowl stamp tax, inheritance tax, inventory tax, liquor tax, luxury tax, medicare tax, city, school and county property tax (up 33 percent last 4 years), real estate tax, social security tax, road usage tax, toll road tax, state and city sales tax, recreational vehicle tax, state franchise tax, state unemployment tax, telephone federal excise tax, telephone federal state and local surcharge tax, telephone minimum usage surcharge tax, telephone state and local tax, utility tax, vehicle licence registration tax, capitol gains tax, lease severance tax, oil and gas assessment tax, Colorado property tax, Texas, Colorado, Wyoming, Oklahoma and New Mexico sales tax, and many more that I can't recall but I have run out of space and money. When you do not receive my check April 15, just know that it is an honest mistake. Please treat me the same way you treated Congressmen Charles Rangle, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank and ex-Congressman Tom Dashelle and, of course, your boss Timothy Geithner. No penalties and no interest.
P.S. I will make at least a partial payment as soon as I get my stimulus check.

Dreaming of the Beach....

Close your eyes and feel the bright sun warm your face, hear the gulls and drifts of a radio over the noise of the waves. Take a deep breath and smell suntan lotion and salty air. I am so ready for a trip to Mexico Beach - ready for reading, napping and fresh seafood. Here are a few pics from our last trip. Hope you enjoy!

Call us crazy, but we went down when one of the hurricanes was coming, we had lots of wind and were pretty much alone at the hotel, just us and the gulls. What a restful vacation!

A Wise Man Once Said...

  • "The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."

  • "It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world."

  • "I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them."

  • "My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government."

  • "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government."

  • "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

Thomas Jefferson

I am still very busy working six days a week, long hours, but I thought this was worth the time to share! Take care my friends!!

The Race is On...

from the comic strips

Hmmm, wish we could, but we cannot cancel our subscription. Seems we are all in this together. I am busy preparing tax returns for my wonderful clients. So, if I don't show up for a while, you know what I am doing, crunching numbers. Getting every dime I can in refunds for my clients! It is exhausting and all-consuming, but I would not have it any other way. Say a little prayer for me - Talk to you soon!! Cindy

Tatted Love

Tatting dates to the early 19th century. The term for tatting in most European languages is derived from French frivolité, which refers to the purely decorative nature of the textiles produced by this technique. The technique was developed to imitate point lace. While perusing etsy this morning I found lots of tatted pretties. Here are a few of my favorites - hope you enjoy the eye candy...
