Farm Fresh Eggs

Aren't these eggs beautiful - I love farm eggs. They are true easter eggs - coming in every color and size and they have the most orange yolks and make the best cakes. One of my clients gave me these last week - she gives them to me from time to time. They are beautiful and quite tasty and take me back to summers spent on my grandparent's farm. Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday!

Nanny's Irises

Nanny, my grandmother on my mom's side, loved flowers and gardening. I spent many a hot summer day working along side her picking peas. She was the type to have a bushel of them picked, washed and blanched and ready for the freezer by lunchtime, or dinnertime, as we call it down south. Summers spent on the farm were very memorable - eating the wonderful fresh veggies and working in the dirt! There was no need for a sleep aid - I went to bed tired and sunburned and slept like a rock!

Nanny died in a house fire years ago, so we do not have many of her things to remember her by, but we have some of her flowers. My mom dug the bulbs for me and I planted them at the office last year. Well, to my surprise yesterday, I looked out the window and they had bloomed. I am so excited, they are so beautiful and are a special reminder of a wonderful grandmother who taught me so much! Hope you enjoy the pics...
