Vintage Grainsack Pillows

I think my favorites are the heavy duty ones, like these Bemis Sacks. I have several that are dated - most were used in the 1930s and 1940s. These are heavy, nubby, just a wonderful texture and will last another 80 years. I use them all around my house, inside and out - on wicker and my leather sofas too. I have some to share listed in my shop - thanks for stopping by and have a lovely weekend!!

Grainsack Pillows

I crafted these pillows with reproduction grainsacks - with the reproductions, you get the best of both worlds....easy care and vintage graphics. I have been sewing away and have them piled so high on the dining table that Mr. CatNap complained about not being able to see out the windows! LOL!!!
Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely weekend!!
For these and more pillows, check out my shop.
And if you are wondering about the quilt, it is an etsy find. A little old lady made it with her husband's shirts after he passed away, she could not part with them, so she stitched up a quilt top, she then passed on and a quilter purchased the top and quilted it and now it is mine.

Vintage Grainsack Pillows...

...continued - cannot get enough of these. In amongst a crazy tax season, I have managed to craft some new ones for my shop. I just love the sacks, always think of the people that used them and wonder about their lives and such. Anyway, here they are...

Thanks for stopping by - have a great week!

Domestic Grainsack Pillows

I am just enamored with vintage grainsacks, especially the heavy duty ones that were found in barns - some I purchased came with a few seeds of grain in the bottom of them. If they could only talk, they would tell of trips to the mill and days spent in the barn and who knows what else. It brings me such delight to clean and repair them as needed, and repurpose them into pillows. They just bring such character to a room - my living room is full of them, but you probably already knew that! :-) Here are a few of these soft and durable beauties...

These, along with others, are listed in my shop. Thanks for stopping by today!
