Crocheted Scarves

Remember that saying from the movie Field of Dreams...if you build it, they will come. Well, that is sort of what happend with my scarf making. I had so many made up and I was not sure what I would do with them, kept thinking I would run into a herd of people with cold necks one day and just give them away! LOL! But right before Christmas, I received a scarf order from a company out of California for 40 scarves. I was thrilled and what made it so fabulous is that they wanted them all to be different, no specifications, they set me free to create. And those of you that craft and are artists know that that is the most fabulous thing, to be free to create, no holes barred! I already had about 30 in my shop, so I cleaned it out and pulled out all my yarns and got busy creating - oh, the bliss! I wanted to share with you today a few of my favorite creations. I love mixing the yarns, blending them and using them in blocks. It was such fun and surely did help Santa out with his shopping list...

Hand Crocheted Scarves

I am sure you have heard of the Land of the Misfit Toys, well my studio is the Land of the Homeless Scarves. I have so many of these because I cannot sit still for a moment - I pick up the crochet hook and yarn each night while I sit in front of that giant box with pictures that my husband cannot live without and toast my toes by the fire. Please help me find a home for these soft and warm scarves. There are boa style, skinny ones, furry and fuzzy, some with fringe, some without and chunky ones too in many colors and textures! The average price is $12.50 each and if you mention my blog, I will reimburse you 10% back. My gift to you and a small token of my appreciation for helping me to find good homes for these scarves, so get your Christmas list out. Heck, if you buy three, I will throw an extra scarf in the box - just mention my blog! Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!!

Crochet Fever - I'm Hooked!

Well, I've got it. If it came with a fever, I would be burning up! I had forgotten how much fun it is to crochet. Have not done it in decades... it all started when looking for scarves to accompany the wool coats I bought my daughters for Christmas. Could not find what I wanted - nothing was just right. After all, my baby is freezing her tail off in Germany now and needs coverage and warmth. So I thought, well, I used to crochet, I can just make her a scarf ... one visit to the Hobby Lobby Walls of Yarn and I was hooked!! Wow, the yarns... there are so many fabulous textures, weaves and colors. You don't have to be a "fancy" hooker (hehe) to make gorgeous scarves, just a few simple stitches! Here are some of my creations so far...

These are for sale in one of my etsy shops. Click on the pics to link there - Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!!
