Let Her Eat Cake!

Happy Birthday Rebecca! Yes, she is one now - boy, that year blew by. She can walk, when she wants to. Says woof woof, cack cack, tree, nana, mama, daddy, sister, open, drink and is truly southern. She says "hey" to everyone she sees with a great big smile!!

What's this? A whole cake for me?

I am not sure what to do with it!

This icing is sweet, where is the cake?

Who needs cake when you have peanut butter?

Can this peanut butter make this icing better?

Ummmm - Icing and Peanut Butter!!

I found the cake - This is fun!!

And sticky!

I made a quick mess of that cake!!

To all of you brave men and women who wear and have worn the uniform, those of you among us and those who have fallen. Thank you for taking on the mantle of protecting our country and truly making us the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Pillow Happy

I played in my box of vintage chenille remnants yesterday and had a ball. It is all I want to do these days, make pillows! I feel like Jim Carrey in The Mask...."Somebody STOP Me!" No, not really, I don't want to stop and, afterall, it is cheap therapy - LOL. Here are the results of another day of crafting therapy...

These are listed in my etsy shop - Thanks for stopping by!!

Burpies for Babies

When my girls were babies, I was not nearly as stylish as moms are today. I used cloth diapers, alright, but to cover the bottoms of my babies and to clean up the ocassional mishap. Cloth diapers have a whole new life and purpose, and I am sure that the Birdseye Diaper manufacturer is happy about that! I made these cute Burpies with cloth diapers and vintage inspired fabrics...

These are listed in one of my etsy shops, craftynanacreations - Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!!

The Duck Derby

Well, the weather held out, but we did not win the car. We did get a fancy "cindy lou who" hairdo for Hurley, a funnel cake, a t-shirt and our own little rubber ducks to take home! It is such a sight to see 20,000 yellow rubber ducks following the current... racing away to the finish line. Click here for a few more pics and to read the Daily News Tribune article. Have a great Sunday!!

The Happy Pillow

My crafting therapy today yielded "The Happy Pillow"! I sew away with my fabrics but sometimes I really like what I make. I could make a toilet seat cover with ticking and love it - I just love ticking, especially red. I purchased some vintage quilt squares, or circles I should say, from an etsy seller and put one together with some ticking today and it just made me smile. I have listed this ooak pillow in my etsy shop along with another pillow I made from a vintage feedsack. Hope all you moms have a wonderful Mother's Day tomorrow and thanks for stopping by!

Mid-Century Tea/Coffee Sets

One day I am posting about flowers and the next it is mid-century pottery - go figure! That just gives you all a little glimpse into the randomness of my thought processes! Needless to say, I love vintage pottery. I stumbled onto a fabulous tea/coffee set recently. I listed it, but kind of hope it does not sale so I can keep it. I love the chunky texture and the simple botanical print! I found a few more sets in other etsy shops...
