The Green Chair and More...Mid-Century Style

Do you start one project and before you finish that one start another one, and before you finish that one, start another??? Well, I do. When inspiration strikes, I change gears and go!!! In the midst of trying to finish my studio and the "old girl" chair, and trying to keep my etsy shops stocked and special orders up, I have redone another chair. It is a 1970s dining chair in sort of a Mediterranean style. I painted it avocado green and covered the seat with a vintage mid-century barkcloth in a mobile design. She turned out really funky - green is my favorite color and I have been into this shade for quite some time now. I just don't need to get carried away and buy myself an avocado green leather sofa - that would be a huge mistake. 1973 - Hiphuggers, Halter Tops and Hair

I actually had this pattern and made that halter top!

I was 13 in 1973 and was all about what to listen to and what to wear. I remember wearing hiphuggers, halter tops and clogs and listening to WALG (an a.m. pop station) late into the night. There is a new show out, or maybe not so new, but I just found it, called "Life on Mars". It is about a guy who gets thrown back in time to 1973 and is a police officer in New York City. Everything is right out of 1973, the clothing, cars, attitudes, hair, music - it is fabulous! As we used to say - it's a trip! Here are a few pics from the ABC show...
