This Old Chair - The Before

Another rescue from the trash, I could not resist! I did some research and cannot really figure out what style of chair this is. Pretty sure she is a parlor chair and she has some Queen Anne characteristics, but wish I knew for sure. I am going to take the old fabric and check out my fabric books to try and date this old girl. I stripped her down - her insides were some sort of wood shavings - maybe cedar - and cotton and old jute webbing. Stripped her bare. These are the befores. As we say in the south, "She ain't much of a looker!", but Cindy has something instore. Planning to paint her an offwhite and put a new upholstery weight linen on her. If you have any info about this old girl, please let me know and stay tuned for the after...

I have never seen so many upholstery tacks in a piece before - took me forever to get her naked - probably what hubby says about this old girl too! HEHE!! She is ready for a coat of paint now and her new outfit! Stay tuned! Thanks for stopping by!
